- Provides care and education for people with an ostomy. This is a service provided for Royal Alexandra Hospital patients to support their transition between hospital and home.
Service includes:
- teaching and consultation for peristomal wound and skin management
- pre-op discussion and teaching for clients considering or planning surgery resulting in an ostomy
- client education including stoma care and selection and use of correct appliances
- information about community resources and support in transition
