The Minister’s Seniors Service Awards are now open for nominations. The annual province-wide honours recognize individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations who support seniors.
Until June 30, 2021, you can submit your suggestions for a person or organization making a difference in Albertan seniors’ lives through their:
- volunteerism
- philanthropy
- innovation
- outstanding service
5 Nomination Categories
There are a variety of award categories, including a brand new one:
- Individual Award – An individual Albertan or couple, of any age, who provides volunteer service, demonstrates philanthropy, or outstanding service to seniors in Alberta.
- Business Award – An Alberta business or corporation exhibiting excellence in innovation or philanthropy in support of Alberta’s seniors.
- Nonprofit Award – An Alberta nonprofit organization exhibiting excellence in innovation or outstanding service to Alberta’s seniors.
- *NEW* Alberta Spirit Award – An Alberta individual, business, or nonprofit organization that has brought joy to isolated seniors to promote wellness and reduce social isolation.
- Alice Modin Award – An individual or couple who is 65 years or older and has:
- been volunteering in their community for 20+ years;
- actively promotes volunteerism; and/or
- has had a provincial impact through their volunteer efforts.
DID YOU KNOW?
This award is given in honour of Alice Modin who championed a seniors’ day in Strathcona County, which paved the way for the province-wide Seniors’ Week we celebrate to this day.
How to Nominate a Deserving Alberta Resident
If you have a person, company or organization you’d like to suggest for one of the five awards, there are two ways you can submit a nomination.
